New mandatory dates for Verifactu
The Government has announced a Royal Decree that delays the mandatory implementation date for Verifactu by one year. Those who were preparing for January 2026 are already one step ahead, and those who have not yet done so have been given an extra extension. Take advantage of the benefits of preparing in advance: in addition to avoiding errors and gaining peace of mind, you will begin to manage your invoicing more efficiently and accurately.
New Verifactu dates:
Companies: January 1, 2027
Self‑employed: July 1, 2027

What is the Verifactu system?
The Government of Spain, within the context of the Anti-Fraud Law, has launched a system called Verifactu.
It consists of the mandatory implementation of a system for issuing verifiable invoices that will be sent directly to the Tax Authorities of Spain (Hacienda). This will come into force during 2027.
The new invoices will include a mention of Verifactu and a QR code with transaction details.
Verifactu in restaurants and shops
All restaurant and retail businesses must adopt the new billing system. Verifactu affects all companies and self-employed workers that need to issue invoices, except for those that are already included in the Immediate Supply of Information in Spain (SII).
Don't leave it until the last minute:
